Back in High school I ran into a site which had a very interesting fellow named Joshua Ross. He was a a student at the University of Arkansas in Pine Bluff. He had made this site full of really awesome things I thought at that age. I thought I could share some of his poems here with you since even now I find them a great read.



UNTITLED

Why must you torture me every single day,

You're in my dreams and you won't go away.

This pain that I have, it hurts so bad,

I may look happy, but inside I'm so sad.

I'd do anything for a glance,

I wish you would just give me a chance.

The pain is unbearable, you're always in my head,

Maybe I'd be better off ....


THE DOWNFALL OF MANKIND

Toys, toys, how i love toys.

They bring so much joy to little girls and boys.

But once upon a time there was such a fun thing,

'Twas thought to be a toy but was a destruction machine.

They thought it was fun, thought it was a game,

They said, "It can't be dangerous, just look at the name."

They didn't know how it worked or how it was designed,

But as you played with it , it enslaved your mind.

So you ask, "What evil can this be!?"

Well,I'll tell you...it's called a Slinky.


PRODUCT OF THE SUN

I have a friend who's with me everyday.

But every single night he simply runs away.

the next morning he's back again;

He is my only really true friend.

He is there every time I turn around,

Through all me adventures, then homeward bound.

He will never leave me, this I know,

Because me only friend is my shadow.


UNDERSTANDING

I'm surrounded by people, but I'm alone,

I know where I am, but I can't find my way home.

I'm in the oven, but I feel so cold,

No one speaks, but I I've been told.

Everything hurts, but I feel no pain,

I've been bleeched, but I'm so stained.

Everyone hates me, but I'm in demand,

I can't explain it, you wouldn't understaind.


ORIGIONAL


Who can say that I am strange?

Who can say that I am normal?

Who can say I'm deranged?

I think I am very formal.

Why must you be the same?

You're like everyone I see.

I think that is very lame.

but don't try to be like me.

Originality is a trademark.

It's number one on my list.

I'm bound with a straight jacket in the dark,

Meditating with a clenched fist.

Society says I am a threat,

They say I'm a crazy man.

I want to have fun, but don't you fret.

The asylum has chained my hand.
